About the position

The Architectural Drafter at J Lynn Design Group is responsible for creating detailed architectural and interior design drawings, including full sets of construction documents for residential projects. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and Google SketchUp, with a focus on producing accurate elevations, section details, and various plans related to interior design. The drafter will also participate in material selections and attend construction meetings, ensuring that designs are executed according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed architectural drawings including elevations, section details, and furniture plans.
• Develop reflected ceiling and electrical plans, flooring and material plans, and demolition layouts.
• Participate in cabinetry finishes, flooring, tile, and countertop selections.
• Conduct onsite measuring and attend construction meetings.
• Build models in Google SketchUp based on approved 3D renderings.
• Detail lighting fixture heights and plumbing schedules.

Requirements

• Proven experience in AutoCAD drafting.
• Experience with Google SketchUp for 3D rendering.
• Knowledge of full sets of construction documents for residential interior design.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
