About the position

The Architectural Draftsman position at Glenshaw Architectural Woodwork involves creating detailed production shop drawings using AutoCAD and Microvellum. The role requires a strong understanding of millwork and the ability to interpret architectural drawings to ensure accurate and timely project execution. The draftsman will collaborate with various stakeholders to clarify design intent and maintain high-quality standards across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate detailed production shop drawings for millwork.
• Ensure all necessary details for production are included in shop drawings.
• Develop complex layout and design drawings using theoretical and practical design knowledge.
• Create 2D and 3D representations from preliminary schematics.
• Establish design standards and configurations.
• Check design layouts and detailed drawings for accuracy.
• Consult with management, co-workers, project managers, and architects for design clarification.
• Create meticulous shop drawings that accurately represent design intent and constructability.
• Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to facilitate project execution.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met.
• Utilize Innergy for project management and coordination.
• Collaborate with the project management team and work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience.
• Microvellum experience preferred.
• 2-5 years of millwork experience preferred.
• Associate degree or technical education in a drafting field is highly desirable.
• Experience in commercial construction with a background in a millwork setting.
• Knowledge of AWI and ADA specifications and regulations.
• Capability to read and interpret complex construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, Alphacam, and Microvellum.

• Experience with Innergy ERP system is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
