About the position

The position of Lead Designer at NEDC involves overseeing residential design projects from inception to completion, ensuring that client visions are realized through sustainable design practices. The role emphasizes collaboration with clients and production teams, focusing on creating inspiring spaces while adhering to Passive House principles and sustainable luxury standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects from start to finish, working directly with clients to understand their vision.
  • Document existing conditions and prepare construction-level drawings.
  • Create vision boards and assist clients in selecting fixtures and finishes.
  • Collaborate with the production team to estimate construction costs during various design phases.
  • Lead a team of assistant designers to create innovative residential spaces.
  • Manage construction administration throughout the construction process.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Residential Design Environment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with design and construction professionals.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Strong client interaction skills and a desire to create award-winning designs.
  • Working knowledge of local zoning and building codes.
  • Background in the construction industry is a plus.
