About the position

The Architectural Project Manager will oversee the entire building process of architectural millwork construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor project progress to ensure customer expectations are met and projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Review and approve all shop drawings prior to client review and update them based on client feedback.
  • Obtain accurate field measurements.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractors as applicable.
  • Ensure proper documentation, submission, and approval of change orders.
  • Work with the accounting department to accurately process billings to customers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between customer/stakeholders and the company.
  • Perform jobsite visits and attend general contractor progress meetings as required.
  • Determine and manage needed resources (manpower, equipment, materials, etc.) from start to finish, with attention to budgets.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule each phase of the process to ensure project deadlines will be met.
  • Supervise the work of installers and provide guidance when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all governmental and company health and safety standards on the jobsite and report issues as applicable.
  • Monitor and evaluate project profitability relative to budget.
  • Complete punch out process and successfully close each project.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs in various stages of construction, from inception through installation and final customer sign-off.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Design, and millwork.
  • 4+ years of construction project management experience, preferably with a focus on custom millwork, casework, and cabinetry projects.
  • Experience with analyzing job requirements, defining project scope, and developing project timelines for submittals, fabrication, and installation.
  • Knowledge of cabinet vision, cabinet assembly, and cabinetry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with RFIs, change orders, and estimation.
  • Ability to read blueprints, architectural drawings, and specification sheets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred. Work experience in applicable construction trades is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) standards.
  • Experience with blueprint and project management software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • An understanding of the fabrication and installation process of architectural millwork products.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards on a construction jobsite.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
