About the position

HOK is seeking an Architectural Project Manager to oversee project financial performance and team communication in their Kansas City studio. The role involves managing multiple projects through all phases until completion, ensuring adherence to design intent, budget, and schedule. The Project Manager will collaborate with the Project Architect and Project Designer, lead project teams, and maintain client relationships while fostering a commitment to sustainable design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project financial performance and team communication.
  • Oversee one or more projects from inception to completion.
  • Direct employees and consultants to ensure project completion as planned.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with the Project Leadership Team.
  • Assist in developing project scope, fee, budget, and scope of services.
  • Prepare and participate in project presentations and client meetings.
  • Utilize Deltek Project Management system for project management tasks.
  • Negotiate consultant contracts and fees.
  • Ensure budgets support Quality Management Program throughout the project.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project teams and clients.
  • Monitor construction administration during the construction phase.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Identify new business opportunities and assist in marketing efforts.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to project staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent education/experience required.
  • 5 years' experience in architectural practice with management experience in all project phases.
  • Licensed Architect preferred, with NCARB registration preferred.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of design, construction methodology, and material application.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems and project management.
  • Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Primavera or MS Project preferred.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software such as Sketchup, Lumion, Enscape, TwinMotion, and Rhino preferred.
  • Proficiency in Affinity software suite preferred.
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vision preferred.
