About the position

Forms+Surfaces is a leading designer and manufacturer of a wide range of architectural products used in public spaces around the globe. Our growing brand is known for its breadth of product lines, including surface materials, elevator interiors, doors and hardware, information displays, wall systems, columns, railing, and outdoor site furniture. We currently are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Architectural Sales professional who resides in the Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH area for the position of Territory Manager, with a focus on our entire line of interior architectural products (wall systems, elevator interiors, etc.) as well as exterior architectural products (outdoor site furniture and lighting, etc.). The geographic sales territory for this position consists of a region that includes the cities of Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo. By specializing in both our interior and exterior architectural product lines, you can strengthen your product expertise and build stronger relationships with both the Landscape Architectural as well as the Interior Architectural/Interior Designer communities and other specifiers of our products. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical, design-oriented solutions, with 3-5 years of experience in an Architect or Interior Designer role being a plus. Additionally, 3-5 years of demonstrated sales success in the A/D market with an emphasis on architectural interiors, wall cladding, glass, and/or exterior architectural solutions is essential. A strong, experience-based understanding of the A&D community is crucial, along with proven success working with architects, contractors, interior designers, landscape architects, facility owners, and other specifiers. The ability to craft technical, "substitution-proof" specifications and follow them throughout the bidding and ordering cycle is a key requirement. Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of specifiers' needs, requirements, and concerns, and the ability to offer creative solutions to their challenges. The role requires the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment, along with excellent communications and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to fully utilize our CRM software and other technologies. The ideal candidate will be a graduate Architect/Landscape Architect/Designer (or related technical degree) and have some specific technical Architectural or related experience before transitioning into a sales role calling on specifiers and end-users in the A&D community. Responsibilities

  • Manage sales activities within the designated territory, including Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, interior designers, landscape architects, and facility owners.
  • Craft technical specifications for architectural products and ensure they are followed throughout the bidding and ordering process.
  • Provide creative solutions to specifiers' needs and challenges in the A&D community.
  • Utilize CRM software and other technologies to track sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with team members across Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Design to achieve common goals.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated sales success in the A/D market with an emphasis on architectural interiors, wall cladding, glass, and/or exterior architectural solutions.
