About the position

The Architectural Specification Analyst at Avery Dennison is responsible for driving profitable revenue initiatives within the Graphics North America Division. This role focuses on building strategic relationships in the building construction and design space, qualifying opportunities, and educating architects and decision-makers about Avery Dennison's architectural portfolio to increase specification and product usage rates.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and capture specification opportunities by consulting with industry-leading architects.
  • Use external web-based sales tools to target new project opportunities.
  • Qualify opportunities where products are or could be specified and ensure closure to completion.
  • Drive sales opportunities by working with architects, channel partners, and contractors.
  • Leverage technical capabilities and product portfolio to assist design and construction professionals.
  • Collaborate with sales team members to track projects and convert specifications to sales.
  • Submit product substitution requests to gain specifications.
  • Engage top firms and specifiers using competitive products.
  • Attend industry conferences to build relationships and networks.
  • Develop key metrics to track spec rates and product placements.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of leads and opportunities using CRM.
  • Educate and facilitate product conversations with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in product development and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business field.
  • 5 years of experience in commercial building design, construction, or technical specification sales.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, project delivery, specifications, building codes, and sustainability.
  • Experience with CRM systems including Salesforce.com and Google Suite.
  • Confirmed skills in developing sales penetration and customer growth strategies.
  • Ability to influence and drive new processes within an organization.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter with high energy and results-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Dodge Construction and ARCAT business intelligence software.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a remote-from-HQ location.
