About the position

The Architectural Structures Project Engineer will work closely with architects and clients to design and manage structural engineering projects. This role involves significant autonomy in project-related tasks, including project management responsibilities for complex projects, ensuring successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. The engineer will utilize design software, conduct inspections, and maintain client relationships while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact.
  • Manage multiple projects, particularly those with high complexity and/or risk.
  • Develop feasible engineering design alternatives to meet project requirements.
  • Use Revit and other structural-specific design software to create detailed designs for Construction Documents.
  • Select and utilize appropriate structural materials based on project specifications and Code requirements.
  • Review construction shop drawings and perform site visits for Construction Administration activities.
  • Conduct building inspections and condition assessments.
  • Develop technical engineering reports and prepare Structural Construction Documents including drawings and specifications.
  • Review and redline production plans for revisions.
  • Ensure accurate client billings and monitor outstanding accounts receivable on assigned projects.
  • Direct project team, providing training, technical support, and mentoring.
  • Maintain client relationships and pursue repeat work with current clients.
  • Maintain accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work.
  • Coordinate with other engineers, designers, and technicians on project activities.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings as needed.
  • Ensure QC/QA procedures are followed and participate in team efforts to achieve departmental goals.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering (with Structural emphasis), or Civil Engineering (with Structural emphasis).
  • Four years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of post-bachelor's degree education and experience.
  • Oklahoma, Texas, or Arkansas Professional Engineer (PE) license; Oklahoma Structural Engineer (PE/SE) preferred or ability to attain such designation.
  • Experience with designing and detailing structural systems for building-type structures, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and concrete masonry units (CMU).
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong English language skills for reading, writing, and presenting information.
  • Mathematical skills for working with concepts such as probability, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Reasoning skills for problem-solving and data analysis.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including email, record keeping, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves
