About the position

The Architecture Designer at AECOM will play a crucial role in delivering innovative design solutions for significant projects, including Sports Anchored Developments, Public Safety facilities, and major Cruise Line projects. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure high-quality architectural outcomes while adhering to project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Independently performing advanced technical assignments of various complexities under the direction of the Supervising Architect.
  • Coordinating technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and departments on assigned projects.
  • Assisting in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering plus 4 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience in building design including survey, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010 or higher.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large and complex projects/programs.
  • Experience with government agencies/projects.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, highly motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent technical and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work well with clients, staff, and consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of the American Disabilities Act/American Barriers Act.
  • Management experience on BIM projects is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of pre-development efforts.
