About the position

The Archivist I position at the State Archives is a term-limited, entry-level role focused on improving access to archival collections and providing reference services. The position involves cataloging, data cleanup, and assisting researchers, contributing to the preservation and accessibility of historical records for the state of Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing archival collections to improve access for researchers.
  • Catalog newly discovered records and clean up data for database accuracy.
  • Conduct inventories and mark records for deaccessioning.
  • Provide relief services at the research desk and assist in the digitization of records for customers.

Requirements

  • At least four years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
  • A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to at least four years.

Nice-to-haves

  • MLS (Master in Library Sciences) or MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) degree.
  • Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position.
