About the position

The Area Business Travel Sales Manager is a pivotal role responsible for achieving sales goals and enhancing the overall performance of a collection of 2-10 Full-Service hotels. This position requires a proactive approach to soliciting and securing new accounts for all assigned hotels, working closely with the Directors of Sales and hotel leadership to meet revenue and market share objectives. The individual in this role is expected to manage their time effectively, ensuring that all job responsibilities are completed, which may include working beyond standard hours as necessary. The Area Sales Manager will engage in various sales activities, including conducting solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertaining clients specifically in the Business Travel (BT) segment. This role also involves monitoring market trends and maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts to foster growth in business travel bookings. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Area Business Travel Sales Manager is expected to maintain a strong presence in the local community and industry organizations, adhering to company standards and sales metrics. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and policies, as well as the ability to approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner. The role may also involve participating in special promotions and attending various meetings as required by management. Overall, this position is crucial for driving business travel sales and ensuring the success of the assigned hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals as well as solicitation call goals for the assigned collection of hotels.
  • Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Business Travel (BT).
  • Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Business Travel (BT).
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality's established regulations, company standards, sales standards, and sales metrics related.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments.
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable.
  • Assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e., sales blitzes, etc.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required with at least 2 years Hotel Sales experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
  • Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients.
  • Experience with professional selling skills desired: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills.
