The Area Catering Sales Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional, value-driven service that surpasses guest expectations. This role focuses on acquiring and managing corporate and social events, including weddings and non-profit events. You will maintain relationships with current clients while pursuing new opportunities within the corporate and social event sectors to achieve financial goals for the hotels and yourself. Additionally, you will coordinate all sales activities related to these events, ensuring a warm turnover process to our seasoned and professional event services department. The ideal candidate will present a professional demeanor and possess a motivated, confident, and engaging personality. This position offers the flexibility to work from home one day per week, based on business requirements, and while previous catering experience is desired, it is not required. Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, value-driven service that surpasses guest expectations.
  • Acquire and manage corporate and social events, including weddings and non-profit events.
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and pursue new opportunities within the corporate and social event sectors.
  • Achieve financial goals for the hotels and yourself.
  • Coordinate all sales activities related to events with a warm turnover process to the event services department.
  • Prepare communication and presentations using Microsoft Office and industry-relevant sales systems.
  • Analyze client and hotel needs and negotiate pricing.
  • Travel for weekly local outside sales calls and transportation between the three hotels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year college degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in catering or sales is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to sales and events.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and utilize resources effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed with a willingness to accept ongoing training and mentorship.
