About the position

The Area Catering Sales Manager at Velvet Taco will play a pivotal role in driving new catering sales and establishing strong client relationships. This position is essential for supporting catering marketing, operations, and the strategy for new restaurant openings. Velvet Taco, with over 40 restaurants across multiple states and plans to expand by 40-50 more in the next four years, is seeking a dynamic individual to lead catering sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The successful candidate will act as a brand accelerant, enhancing awareness of the Velvet Taco brand and its catering offerings while significantly impacting area catering sales. In this role, the Area Catering Sales Manager will report directly to the VP of Marketing and collaborate closely with other members of the Restaurant Support Office and Field Operations. The responsibilities include generating leads, developing a catering contact list, and conducting prospecting through calls, emails, and food drops. The manager will also recommend and support the creation of catering sales tools and programs, lead local marketing events, and maintain catering standards of service in partnership with operations. Additionally, the role involves collaborating on new restaurant opening marketing plans and assisting with overall catering planning and execution. The Area Catering Sales Manager must be relentless in setting goals, solving problems, and executing local marketing or catering sales plans, all while being passionate about guest relations and creating memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads and develop a catering contact list.
  • Conduct catering prospecting through calls, emails, and food drops.
  • Recommend and support the creation of catering sales tools and programs.
  • Lead local marketing events as necessary.
  • Maintain and enforce catering standards of service in partnership with Operations.
  • Support and optimize new catering tests and programs.
  • Share recommendations with the marketing team based on catering learnings and trends.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of New Restaurant Opening marketing plans.
  • Assist with overall catering planning, strategy, and execution.
  • Evaluate and recommend catering sales tools and programs.
  • Support and execute local events as necessary.
  • Manage catering guest relations.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of catering and sales experience, preferably with a multi-unit restaurant brand.
  • Strong experience in writing and executing local marketing or catering sales plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain a book of business via proven sales techniques, including cold calling.
  • High level of involvement in trade organizations and/or networking outlets.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
