About the position

SpecialtyCare is a leading provider of clinical services to hospitals, partnering with them to drive, sustain, and accelerate high performance. The Area Clinical Manager is responsible for managing one or more accounts or programs in a specific geographic area, overseeing staff, productivity, scheduling, inventory, physician relations, and clinical activities to achieve operational and financial targets. This role involves performing clinical services regularly and managing clinical associates to ensure quality outcomes and compliance with various standards and regulations. The Area Clinical Manager also assists in evaluating techniques and equipment for clinical applications and helps build and maintain business relationships with customers and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day clinical activities at the account(s) or program(s).
  • Coordinate scheduling of clinical associates, including vacation scheduling.
  • Manage productivity, labor, and budget to meet or exceed targets.
  • Collect and report quality indicator data as required and demonstrate quality improvement.
  • Perform perfusion and other clinical services regularly.
  • Monitor clinical activities for compliance with The Joint Commission standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor equipment operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Serve as lead perfusionist for customers, physicians, vendors, and business office associates.
  • Follow sound inventory and equipment management practices.
  • Ensure appropriate capital equipment and disposable inventory is ordered and available for procedures.
  • Oversee documentation of procedures for medical and billing records.
  • Maintain current credentialing file for associates.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for clinical, credentialing, or operational issues.
  • Participate in hospital committees for quality and process improvement, presenting data as needed.
  • Assist Operations and Sales management in building relationships with physicians and hospital staff.
  • Manage employment activities of clinical associates, including recruitment, training, and performance appraisal.
  • Conduct regular associate meetings and manage change.

Requirements

  • Current certification from American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or meets other Company requirements as a Perfusionist.
  • Degree with a Certificate or Master's degree in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Perfusionist, including experience as a lead Perfusionist.
