About the position

The Area Coach (AC) is responsible for providing leadership and direct supervision to approximately 5 - 10 Taco Bell restaurants, ensuring that each Restaurant General Manager (RGM) meets or exceeds their Annual Operating Plan. The AC supports RGMs by coaching them on performance targets, maintaining company standards, and developing managerial employees. The role emphasizes customer satisfaction and operational excellence, with a focus on building management capability and driving financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direct supervision of multiple Taco Bell restaurants.
  • Support the development of Restaurant General Managers (RGMs) and Assistant General Managers (AGMs).
  • Establish and review unit-specific performance targets in guest service, margin improvement, and employee satisfaction.
  • Maintain company standards in food safety and product specifications.
  • Allocate capital budgets to meet facility needs and introduce new company products.
  • Select, train, develop, and motivate managerial employees.
  • Conduct orientation for new managers to set them up for success.
  • Analyze financial performance and coach RGMs on driving sales and maximizing profitability.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly while maintaining positive relations.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for internal promotion from RGM/MTM position.
  • Associates or Undergraduate degree or equivalent Taco Bell/industry experience.
  • 6-8 years supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Taco Bell performance metrics and management systems.
  • Technically proficient in food preparation, production, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated track record in the selection, coaching, and development of managerial employees.
  • Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Must pass background check criteria and drug test.
