About the position

The Area Credit Supervisor at US Foods is responsible for administering the credit policy and procedures governing credit activities. This role involves managing credit risk investigations, approving credit terms, and overseeing a portfolio of 5000 customers with an annual revenue of $50 million. The position is fully remote and requires working Eastern Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an Accounts Receivable portfolio of 5000 customers and $50MM in annual revenue.
  • Act as the primary credit liaison for the assigned field selling organization, addressing escalations and inquiries.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews with offshore Credit Coordinators to identify and resolve delinquency issues.
  • Oversee the credit analysis and approval process according to the Credit Policy Matrix.
  • Enforce collection efforts related to customer terms and ensure local credit metrics and KPIs are met.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal, external, and cross-functional teams, including third-party offshore managed services partners.
  • Manage policy adherence and handle escalations for policy violations.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with new sellers to discuss credit expectations and provide feedback.
  • Oversee the bad debt reconciliation process and manage escalated collection agency inquiries.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience supervising associates and leading onsite and remote teams.
  • 3 years of experience in Finance or Credit/Collections, including managing portfolios and analyzing risk.
  • 3 years of experience using various web-based and mainframe systems for job activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry experience.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing D&B and other financial & risk management tools.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, particularly strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
  • Strong verbal/written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and coach team members.
  • Critical thinking skills for complex problem resolution and data analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Food service or similar distribution experience.
  • Experience working within a managed services model.
