About the position

Gentiva is seeking an Area Director of Clinical Operations to oversee our offices in southern Pennsylvania. This leadership role is crucial in ensuring that our clinical services are delivered effectively and in compliance with all federal and state regulations. The Area Director will report directly to the Regional VP of Clinical Operations and will be responsible for directing and coordinating both direct and indirect patient services. This includes monitoring adherence to agency policies and procedures, developing and implementing annual education requirements for clinical staff, and coordinating patient records and quality assurance activities. The Area Director will also work closely with corporate staff, Medical Directors, Clinical Managers, and Executive Directors to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care. In this role, the Area Director will be expected to develop and expand revenue performance while sharing responsibility for the supervision of the agency's day-to-day operations. The position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with hospice leadership experience and a willingness to travel up to 75% throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospice operations, a solid understanding of professional nursing theory and practice, and exceptional leadership skills. This position is vital to maintaining the high standards of care that Gentiva is known for, ensuring that our patients and their families receive the support they need during challenging times.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all direct and indirect patient services.
  • Monitor agency level adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement annual education requirements for all clinical staff.
  • Coordinate patient records and quality assurance activities.
  • Coordinate with corporate staff, Medical Director, Clinical Manager, and Executive Director regularly.
  • Develop and expand revenue performance.
  • Share responsibility for the supervision of day-to-day operations of the agency.

Requirements

  • Registered BSN required, preferred.
  • Unencumbered RN license in the state of residence.
  • 5 years clinical experience; minimum 3 years of experience in hospice leadership.
  • 2 years previous managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge in the area of hospice operations.
  • Knowledge and skill of professional nursing theory and practice.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with state and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Able to travel throughout the assigned area routinely, approximately 75%.
