About the position

The Area Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing the Engineering departments of three hotels in San Francisco, ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing maintenance programs, and optimizing operations to enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves budget management, staff supervision, and participation in total hotel management as part of the Area Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise human resources in the engineering division to attract, retain, and motivate staff.
• Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the department's budget and capital expenditure plan.
• Develop, implement, and manage a maintenance program and negotiate maintenance contracts.
• Develop, implement, and direct all Emergency Programs to ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
• Coordinate renovation bidding and oversee contractors to ensure quality work is performed for minimal cost.

Requirements

• More than two years of post-high school education.
• Four to five years of employment in a related position.
• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• Advanced working knowledge in plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, and basic carpentry.

Nice-to-haves
