About the position

The Area Director of Operations (ADO) at Lifepoint Behavioral Health is responsible for overseeing the operational management of behavioral health facilities, ensuring that patient care aligns with the organization's mission and policies. The ADO plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences, managing staff performance, and driving strategic initiatives to improve operational and financial outcomes across multiple locations. This position requires a strong focus on patient movement through treatment processes, compliance with financial reporting, and fostering a collaborative environment among interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of company-approved programs consistently across facilities.
  • Drive strategic operational and financial initiatives for behavioral health facilities.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance goals and conduct annual performance assessments.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with audits.
  • Support units in monitoring patient movement and individualized interventions.
  • Oversee reporting and monitoring of operational performance metrics.
  • Support succession planning by developing leadership potential in staff.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and compliance enhancement.
  • Analyze facility operating costs and explore revenue-increasing strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of treatment plans and supporting documents.
  • Collaborate with business office and utilization review departments for service payment.
  • Participate in survey activities (TJC, Medicare, licensing).
  • Monitor metrics demonstrating effective patient treatment and address variances.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to manage patient volume opportunities.
  • Join treatment team meetings to streamline communication and enhance engagement.
  • Participate in patient complaint resolution processes as needed.
  • Analyze Patient Satisfaction Surveys and implement corrective actions.
  • Hold regular meetings with nursing, assessment, and outpatient teams to foster engagement.
  • Ensure streamlined communication between departments for patient admission and treatment processes.
  • Assist in filling the Program Director role in their absence.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with client administration.
  • Create performance improvement plans as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Social Work or similar clinical field required.
  • Master's in Business or Hospital Administration preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment.
  • Previous management experience in a fee-standing psychiatric hospital setting required.
