About the position

The Field Area Financial Manager at Penske will oversee all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for field operations at an area level. This role is crucial in leading and directing financial teams to support both sales and operations effectively. The manager will provide contract knowledge and analytical support for various processes while also offering additional support to other functional areas. The Area Finance Manager will be accountable for all business planning and forecasting at the area level, ensuring that financial strategies are integrated into all operational strategies and decision-making processes. Collaboration with Area and Site Operations Leadership, as well as cross-functional teams, is essential to ensure that finance is a key component of all activities. The position will also involve interfacing with customers as needed, supporting locations in both the US and Mexico, and a bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred. In this role, the manager will analyze and interpret financial results, comparing them to proforma/budget while understanding their relationship to the P&L and the impact of scope/volume changes and inefficiencies. The manager will lead the identification and development of financial strategies using LEAN principles, effectively plan and forecast business results, and provide innovative pricing solutions, including risk assessment strategies for new and renewal deals. Participation in the core selling team to develop renewal strategies and articulating the value proposition to the field and customers by identifying critical performance metrics will also be key responsibilities. The manager will work closely with the accounting team to ensure the accuracy of monthly financials and support corporate initiatives for systems, centralization, and controllership, including field location audits. Additionally, the role involves providing operational financial support and training, managing and developing analysts, and communicating feedback to the Area VP. Other projects may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of monthly financials.

  • Provide operational financial support and training.
  • Manage and develop financial analysts.
  • Communicate and provide feedback to the Area VP.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7-15 years of finance/accounting experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent communication and people skills required.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required.
  • Quality program certification (Six Sigma, ISO, LEAN, etc.) preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of company systems and procedures preferred.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
