About the position

As an Area HR Manager at H&M, you will serve as a Strategic Business Partner, focusing on enhancing the colleague experience by implementing the H&M people strategy. Your role will involve fostering a high-performing organizational culture that aligns with business goals and financial targets. This position is field-based in Los Angeles, CA, and reports to the Area Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize HR Business Partner mindset to partner with business leaders and implement the H&M people plan.
  • Champion a values-driven culture to enhance colleague and customer experience, recognizing customer service behaviors and driving performance.
  • Evaluate HR KPIs with the Area team and Sales Market HR, initiating clear action plans.
  • Develop a sustainable talent acquisition and hiring strategy for the Area, overseeing the internal talent pipeline.
  • Provide HR subject matter expertise, competency coaching, and business partner advice to Store managers.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to colleague management, ensuring compliance and a fair working environment.
  • Address specific colleague-related challenges in the Area and develop strategies to navigate them.
  • Lead change initiatives and support colleagues in adapting to changes through effective communication and support.
  • Assist the Area team and Store managers in talent development and cross-function talent initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of HR, retail leadership, or people management experience, preferably in retail management.
  • Strong commitment to providing high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to solve conflicts in a direct but positive manner.
  • Professional maturity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legal requirements related to recruitment and training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
