About the position

The Area Leader is responsible for overseeing the collection of waste, recycling, and compost across multiple multifamily communities. This role involves managing a team of Service Valets, ensuring high service standards, and optimizing operations. The position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely, safe, and efficient collection of trash, recycling, and compost for assigned apartment communities.
  • Regularly visit communities to assess service quality and address any potential safety concerns.
  • Utilize the iValet dashboard to monitor performance in real-time and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to and log resident or community complaints in Salesforce, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Actively seek alternative coverage for Service Valet callouts and step in to cover shifts when necessary.
  • Ensure Service Valets have the resources needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collect necessary supplies from the warehouse and assist with container distributions.
  • Provide training on company procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Create and communicate work schedules clearly to Service Valets.
  • Oversee and approve timecards, verifying reported hours against budgeted hours.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and report any incidents promptly.
  • Offer ongoing coaching and recognize Service Valets' efforts with constructive feedback.
  • Hold regular meetings with Service Valets to provide training and address concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and basic Excel skills.
  • Ability to oversee associates across multiple communities effectively.
  • Highly adaptable to changing circumstances and able to pivot strategies as needed.
  • Skilled in managing schedules, timecards, and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to review operational metrics and implement targeted solutions for improvement.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to provide clear and empathetic support.
  • Proven capability to inspire and motivate associates.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the waste management or service industry.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
