About the position

The Area Maintenance Technician (AMT) plays a crucial role in overseeing maintenance operations across multiple Extended Stay America (ESA) facilities within a designated region. This position is responsible for ensuring that all properties are well-maintained and comply with ESA's Green Shield program standards. The AMT will lead maintenance teams, manage facility projects, and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to multiple ESA facilities within the assigned region.
• Maintain all assigned ESA property/assets in good repair and presentable condition.
• Assist facilities teams in managing maintenance requirements and deploying best practices.
• Oversee completion of facilities work/projects to reduce out-of-service (OOS) rooms.
• Limit the need for outside contractor usage to reduce costs.
• Provide preventive maintenance program training and support to Maintenance Technicians.
• Develop and foster internal and external relationships to support facility programs.
• Analyze operating metrics and provide guidance on trends to correct performance issues.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with all State, Federal, and Company standards.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices in Safety, Operations, and Maintenance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or related field.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong analytical skills and project management experience.
• Mechanical knowledge in areas such as plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Experience leading multiple maintenance associates across various locations.
