This includes operating tools and equipment for evaluating pollution levels, supporting regulatory visits, and preparing audit reports for management review. The role also requires participation in evaluating pollution control measures and integrating environmental considerations into process design. In addition to environmental responsibilities, the position emphasizes operational excellence, requiring knowledge of organizational processes and root cause analysis techniques. The individual will clarify the roles of various departments and their relevance to the overall enterprise strategy, while also identifying primary operational functions and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role further encompasses partnership and collaboration, where the individual will own project activities and support process updates. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement techniques is essential, as is the ability to solve simple business issues. Employee health and safety is a critical component, with responsibilities including participation in OSHA inspections, maintaining health and safety records, and monitoring facilities for safety hazards. Asset protection and security are also key aspects of the role, requiring knowledge of asset protection policies and the ability to recognize and investigate security breaches. The individual will assist in implementing access control procedures and maintaining loss prevention records. Training delivery is another responsibility, where the individual will support training programs and manage feedback from participants. Risk management is a significant part of the role, involving the production and interpretation of risk assessment reports, identifying common risks, and conducting risk assessments. The individual will also focus on process improvement, defining critical workflows, identifying process problems, and coaching team members in process improvement skills. Effective communication is vital, as the individual will need to present information clearly and influence team members and business partners. Knowledge of transportation operations, including compliance with laws and regulations regarding materials transportation, is also required. The position demands a customer/member-centered approach, ensuring that associates are informed on how to meet customer needs. Overall, this role requires a blend of technical knowledge, operational understanding, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage EHS responsibilities and contribute to the organization's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Articulates the levers that influence data and ensures data quality.
  • Organizes processes for information analysis and develops technology changes across multiple processes.
  • Operates tools for evaluating air, water, and waste pollution and supports regulatory visits.
  • Prepares audit reports for management review and participates in evaluating pollution control.
  • Assists in integrating environmental considerations into process design and interprets compliance status reports.
  • Explains operational functions and key roles of assigned department or unit.
  • Owns delivery of project activities and supports process updates and changes.
  • Participates in OSHA and other regulatory inspections and maintains health and safety records.
  • Works with tools for theft prevention and investigates security breaches.
  • Supports training programs and manages feedback from training participants.
  • Produces and interprets risk assessment reports and conducts risk assessments.
  • Defines critical workflows for executing key processes and implements methods for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field, or 2 years' experience in EHS within relevant sectors.
  • 2 years' experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma in Supply Chain or manufacturing environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or more certifications such as Associate Safety Professional or Certified Security Professional.
  • 2 or more years of investigative or asset protection experience in retail or warehouse settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
