About the position

The Area Manager at Pinnacle Live is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the management of client relationships and venue operations across multiple locations, including Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. This position requires a strategic leader who can ensure profitability and adherence to company guidelines and quality initiatives. The Area Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with venue partners, providing leadership and oversight to ensure that all operational standards are met consistently. This role is not just about managing venues; it’s about fostering an environment of continual improvement and innovation in service delivery. In this role, the Area Manager will work closely with Venue Directors and Venue Sales teams to identify opportunities for increasing revenue streams and maximizing client capture rates. They will also collaborate with Venue Enablement teams to control expenses effectively, ensuring that all field offices manage their budgets and personnel resources efficiently. The Area Manager will be responsible for reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss statements to ensure maximum business capture and will play a key role in the hiring process for managerial positions within their assigned area. Additionally, the Area Manager will act as a change management agent, supporting policy and procedural changes within their area. They will oversee the annual review process, ensuring fair and objective performance assessments, and will manage escalated performance or behavioral issues as they arise. This role requires a strong focus on leadership, financial management, and strategic planning, making it essential for the Area Manager to possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with venue partners.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of venues in the area of responsibility.
  • Communicate company operating and administrative standards correctly and consistently.
  • Ensure company standards are executed at the venue level.
  • Manage budget and personnel resources effectively across field offices.
  • Partner with Venue Directors and Venue Sales to increase revenue streams.
  • Control expenses effectively, including subrentals and labor.
  • Create an environment of continual improvement through effective leadership.
  • Manage venue budget processes and review P&L statements.
  • Oversee hiring processes for managerial positions within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate property opening and closing activities as needed.
  • Act as a change management agent for policies and procedures.
  • Conduct annual performance assessments and manage escalated performance issues.
  • Work with HR on investigations and appropriate courses of action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of progressive management experience in the hospitality or related industry.
  • Experience in multi-site management in the audiovisual/hospitality or theatrical events industry.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong financial management experience.
  • Good working knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves
