About the position
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of 2-3 depots, ensuring safety compliance, and managing daily activities. This role involves supervising staff, enforcing company policies, and coordinating with the District Manager to meet performance metrics. The Area Manager will also handle employee training, performance appraisals, and resource planning to optimize depot operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage 2-3 depots and ensure overall safety and compliance with company policies.
- Supervise and train employees, including hiring and performance appraisals.
- Monitor employee timesheets and ensure compliance with Hours-of-Service Regulations.
- Inspect depot property and equipment for quality assurance.
- Review and approve completed trips and service activities.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and review KPI performance with associates.
- Perform monthly inventory checks and submit required reports.
- Complete annual performance reviews and driver training.
Requirements
- 3 years of commercial driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with hazardous materials and pressurized gas systems.
- Familiarity with UltiPro, Digital Dashboard, and E-Pal systems.
- Previous experience in plumbing, cable installation, or construction.
