About the position

The Area Manager, Food & Beverage Purchasing is responsible for overseeing all procurement needs within the Food & Beverage division at Knott's Berry Farm. This role involves managing warehouse operations, inventory control, and ensuring adherence to company guidelines while leading a team and managing budgets. The position also requires effective communication with vendors and internal departments to maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure timely procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage food & beverage procurement needs and warehouse operations.
• Ensure adherence to purchase orders and budget management.
• Communicate pricing updates and utilize preferred suppliers.
• Assist in new account set-up and review invoice discrepancies.
• Make recommendations for emergency purchases and assist with competitive bids.
• Maintain product inventories to meet business needs and financial objectives.
• Lead departmental staff meetings to communicate goals and project statuses.
• Work with finance to adhere to contract agreements and reconcile late payments.
• Drive inventory turn rate goals and manage month-end processes for accurate reporting.
• Develop, coach, and motivate staff to meet department goals.
• Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Provide updates to management and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business preferred.
• Certified Purchasing Manager Certificate preferred.
• 6-8 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards, Food Trak, and Maintenance Connection software.
• Excellent negotiation skills and strong organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and purchasing-related software.

• Valid Driver's License preferred.
