About the position

The position is responsible for developing independent account business with a focus on profitability through new sales and account penetration. The role involves promoting and selling company-branded products while meeting brand sales objectives. The individual will also support customer service activities for regional and national chain customers, enhancing the company's visibility and market share.

Responsibilities

  • Generate additional business by analyzing sales territory and individual customers.
  • Sample products with existing and potential customers.
  • Plan general sales strategy including time and territory management.
  • Conduct effective sales presentations to grow sales and profit margins.
  • Set up new customer accounts by determining pricing and coordinating with the Credit Department.
  • Perform initial follow-up work with customers to ensure delivery and product satisfaction.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by coordinating with other center personnel to resolve issues.
  • Build additional business with current customers through product penetration.
  • Monitor accounts for compliance with credit terms to minimize accounts receivable problems.
  • Maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months foodservice sales experience selling to retail food establishments.
  • Valid Drivers License

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or related area
  • 1-2 years foodservice sales experience selling to retail food establishments.
