About the position

As an Area Manager II at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in our Worldwide Operations network, which is dedicated to delivering millions of packages to customers every day. This position requires a motivated and customer-focused individual who is ready to lead a team of hourly employees. Your primary responsibility will be to engage your team during their shifts, ensuring that safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards are maintained at the highest levels. You will also be instrumental in meeting customer expectations, ensuring that orders are delivered accurately and on time. The workflow in our operations consists of three major components: the first mile, where products are housed and prepared for orders; the middle mile, where orders are transported to your area; and the last mile, which involves delivering products to customers' doorsteps. While there may be slight variations in building workflows, our commitment to customer satisfaction remains constant. You will be part of the Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) team, which focuses on enhancing the last mile customer experience through innovative operational strategies. In this role, you will be expected to support, mentor, and motivate your team, manage safety and quality metrics, and ensure that productivity and customer delivery promises are met. Collaboration with various support teams, including Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources, will be essential in developing plans to achieve business objectives. The position requires physical stamina, as you will need to lift up to 49 pounds and be active during shifts that can last up to 12 hours. You will also need to adapt to varying noise levels and temperatures in the work environment, which may include outdoor loading areas and refrigerated locations. Flexibility in your schedule is necessary, as you may be required to work weekends and overnight shifts.
