About the position

The Area Manager - Sales position at Performance Foodservice involves managing a geographical sales territory to develop independent and regional account business while achieving budgeted sales and profit objectives. The role requires regular interaction with existing and potential customers, the execution of business plans, and effective management of time and resources to drive results. The Area Manager will also support company branded products and oversee pricing and credit term compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a geographical sales territory to develop independent and regional account business.
  • Achieve budgeted sales and profit objectives.
  • Regularly call on existing and potential customers.
  • Develop and execute business plans.
  • Effectively manage time and resources to attain results.
  • Build business through support of company branded products.
  • Manage pricing and monitor credit term compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months recent experience in sales, marketing, or restaurant general management
  • Clean MVR
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must live in the sales territory; No relocation

Nice-to-haves

  • Post High School education (i.e. culinary training, AS/BS degree in business management, culinary arts, or related area)
  • 2+ years recent foodservice sales related work experience
  • Foodservice distribution industry experience
  • Bilingual
  • Sales systems experience (i.e. online order entry, sales metrics dashboard, web-based customer tools/systems)
  • Culinary, procurement, vendor/supplier and/or beverage sales related experience in foodservice industry.
