About the position

The Area Operations Manager for Radiology is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the designated region, supervising Radiological Technologists and Sonographers, and ensuring compliance with company policies and high standards of patient care. This role involves managing staffing, performance metrics, policy compliance, and communication between management and staff, while also focusing on service improvement and patient care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement staffing schedules within the designated region.
  • Monitor performance metrics and forecast service needs for effective personnel management and departmental financial oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies; update policies as needed.
  • Provide personal supervision and direct clinical interaction with staff in the region.
  • Facilitate communication between management and technologists to uphold quality standards under radiologist direction.
  • Conduct staff evaluations every 90 days and annually; assess employee needs and provide recommendations to management.
  • Review image quality and manage inventory, ordering supplies and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Orient new employees to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist technologists in resolving technical issues and coach staff to correct problem behaviors.
  • Review technologist payroll promptly to ensure productivity and resource control.
  • Regularly communicate with dispatch to maintain patient care and turnaround times.
  • Perform X-rays and ultrasounds as needed to enhance service levels.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance for reliable operations.
  • Retain dosimetry reports and oversee technologist credentialing and training.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies; report and document incidents immediately.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations, Radiology Services.

Requirements

  • Maintain required state licenses and/or ARRT certification, health, and operational requirements.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (exemption requests must be documented).
  • Minimum of 2 years in the mobile field and in a supervisory role.
  • Valid State Rad Tech/CRT and ARRT, ARDMS/CCI certifications.
