About the position

The Area Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence across all Club Fitness locations. This position supports club leadership and area leaders by modeling and promoting operational excellence, aligned with our mission and core values. The ideal candidate will foster an environment that enables Member Experience Associates (MEA) to work cohesively, maintaining high standards in equipment, cleanliness, and member service. Additionally, the Specialist will recommend and implement improvements to processes and procedures, fostering continuous growth. In this role, the Area Operations Specialist will develop and maintain strong professional relationships with club managers to inspire and guide teams toward operational excellence. They will train MEAs and managers to prioritize the member experience, ensuring a member-first attitude in all interactions. The Specialist will provide operational support and guidance during the implementation of new policies, procedures, or projects, ensuring all facilities comply with health and safety standards and uphold the company’s standards of Clean, Functional, and Friendly. The Specialist will lead initiatives for self and team development, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in operations and member experience. Collaboration with leadership is essential to identify coaching opportunities and develop strategies that impact club operations and the member experience. The role also involves managing inventory tracking, order approvals, and conducting audits, as well as facilitating orientation and operational training for new managers. Overall, the Area Operations Specialist is key to building a successful club team and fostering an environment where associates are valued and respected.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with club managers to inspire and guide teams toward operational excellence.
  • Train Member Experience Associates (MEAs) and managers to prioritize the member experience, ensuring a member-first attitude in all interactions.
  • Provide operational support and guidance during the implementation of new policies, procedures, or projects.
  • Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety standards and uphold the company’s standards of Clean, Functional, and Friendly.
  • Lead initiatives for self and team development, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in operations and member experience.
  • Work closely with leadership to identify coaching opportunities and develop strategies that impact club operations and the member experience.
  • Manage inventory tracking, order approvals, and conduct audits.
  • Facilitate orientation and operational training for new managers.
  • Assist with staffing, process reviews, Kids Club management, cleaning standards, and member experience audits.
  • Utilize effective practices to build a successful club team, fostering an environment where associates are valued and respected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • 18 years of age or older, required
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, and leadership, preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Confidence in Club Fitness software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
