About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Area Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety programs across our operations in Western NY. This full-time position is based in Pavilion, NY, and reports directly to the Regional Director of Health & Safety. The Area Safety Manager will play a crucial role in implementing safety programs, conducting compliance inspections, and ensuring that all safety regulations are met. The successful candidate will work closely with area management to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing safety programs and will be responsible for developing new processes to minimize employee exposure to hazards. In this role, you will conduct regular safety audits, investigate incidents, and provide training to employees, visitors, and contractors on job hazards and safe work practices. You will also maintain accurate safety records and ensure that safety systems are up-to-date. The position requires a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Area Safety Manager will also be involved in advising on equipment purchases, reviewing plans for new machinery, and ensuring that all safety requirements are met. This position supports our aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and ready-mix concrete operations, and involves both office work and fieldwork in the plants. The successful candidate must be willing to travel regularly across Western NY to various sites.
