About the position

The Area Sales and Installation Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the strategy, development, and execution of the regional business plan and human capital strategy for the New Acquisition channel. This position is accountable for developing action plans to meet or exceed goals for their area within the channel. The ideal candidate must be adept at building engagement and alignment through strong people leadership, which includes exceptional talent development, effective communication, and collaboration. The manager will collaborate with functional leadership to support the growth and development of operations teams in the territory, leading channel growth activities for field operations and sales. In terms of leadership, the Area Sales and Installation Manager is expected to drive results by leading by example, building strong relationships, and influencing teams of frontline operations and sales managers. This includes providing clarity of vision and expectations for execution, role modeling effective coaching and performance feedback, prioritizing resources, and facilitating alignment of the teams. The manager will support the execution of a strong talent management plan, which includes talent assessment, selection, empowerment, coaching, motivation, and retention of top talent. Cultivating employee engagement and a positive employee relations environment through robust and regular employee communications, performance feedback, and a culture of reward and recognition is essential. From a functional perspective, the manager will direct revenue growth and profitability of the overall operation for a designated area, planning and coordinating the activities of the service and installation operations. Maintaining a high level of quality and timely service to customers for maximum retention is critical. The manager will develop and maintain liaisons with appropriate public safety officers, sub-contractors, and associated industry contacts, executing operating efficiencies and dynamics for successful operations programs and processes. Monitoring competitive activities within the territory and collaborating with operations and sales managers to recommend and implement tactical defenses is also part of the role. The manager will mentor, drive, and support operation and sales managers in the territory, focusing on productivity and sales performance objectives for the business. The Area Sales and Installation Manager will also participate in forecasts and budgets for the area, providing regular reporting and communication to other key stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of business and financial acumen, the ability to drive growth, inspire results, and demonstrate strategic agility in a fast-paced environment. The manager must be adaptable in challenging situations and able to assess deliverables against leading industry practices to implement plans that leverage company advantages.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in business administration, marketing, operations, or other related field of discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of operations and operations management experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in leadership operations.
  • Experience in assessing, coaching, and developing talent and managing multi-disciplinary organizations.
  • Proven ability to establish business direction and execute strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience leading a significant business unit of similar size; scoping, designing, and implementing business solutions to build/grow a market.
  • Ability to influence business decisions in a highly matrixed organization.
