About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Coors Distributing Company (CDC) is responsible for managing the sales team in Denver, Colorado, ensuring that sales volume goals, budget management, and safety metrics are met. This role involves leading field training, executing business objectives, and maintaining relationships with retailers while overseeing the performance and development of sales representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop assigned Sales Representatives and Route Relief personnel.
  • Conduct monthly in-market training sessions with sales reps to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Coach employees on best business practices for territory growth.
  • Accountable for performance management and calibration processes for the sales team.
  • Identify and assist with escalated concerns from retailers.
  • Establish and maintain professional customer relationships.
  • Meet established sales team objectives including budget management and sales volume.
  • Ensure execution of monthly business objectives and compliance with Supplier Standards.
  • Manage old beer and ensure quality standards through audits and coaching.
  • Maintain a daily presence in the office and market, engaging with employees, retailers, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of sales management experience, including leading teams of sales employees.
  • Knowledgeable in sales and marketing concepts used in the beverage industry.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze sales data to influence retailers and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean MVR as per MillerCoors Pre-Employment Background Screening Guidelines.
