This role is pivotal in driving revenue through effective sales strategies and customer engagement. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for selling the total hotel, focusing on both rooms and catering merchandising efforts. The individual will champion customer and owner objectives, aligning with the company’s Quality Pledge and Standards of Service, as well as the hotels' Mission Statement. This position requires active participation in direct sales efforts, with a strong emphasis on market priorities, under the guidance of the Director of Sales. The successful candidate will engage directly with guests, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. The Area Sales Manager will be tasked with maximizing sales and revenue through various strategies, including business development, account management, and hotel site sales calls. This includes achieving catering and sales room night goals, maximizing space potential, and pursuing up-selling opportunities. Building and maintaining excellent client relationships is crucial, and the Area Sales Manager will engage with the community, local visitors' bureau, and various organizations to cultivate a robust client database. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Area Sales Manager will support cost control measures by managing catering expenses and adhering to procurement guidelines. The role also involves ensuring client satisfaction by meeting catering service standards and effectively communicating client needs to operational departments. The individual will utilize sales and catering tools to accurately report and forecast sales data, ensuring the integrity of this information. Safety and risk management are also key components of this role, as the Area Sales Manager will support catering operations to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and ensure a safe work environment. Effective self-management and communication skills are essential, as the Area Sales Manager will participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with team members to promote a positive work environment.
