About the position

The Area Sales Manager for Crowne Plaza Crystal City and Holiday Inn National Airport is responsible for driving sales and revenue for the hotels by managing client relationships, achieving sales goals, and ensuring high standards of guest service. This role requires active participation in direct sales efforts, focusing on market priorities, and collaborating with the Director of Sales. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the company's mission and service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve catering, sales room night, and revenue goals through business development and account management.
  • Maximize space potential and food and beverage minimums while pursuing up-selling opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships through community involvement and local organizations.
  • Support management of catering expenses to maximize hotel profitability and assist with budget preparation.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting catering service standards and responding to client needs in a timely manner.
  • Utilize sales and catering tools to accurately report and forecast sales data, ensuring data integrity in Delphi.
  • Maintain safety and risk management standards in catering operations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Demonstrate effective self/workload management and clear communication skills, promoting a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Prior direct sales experience in a full-service hotel of a comparable or upscale brand.
  • Experience using Delphi CRM system.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality sales and marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of local market trends and competition.
