About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing independent account business with a focus on profitability through new sales and account penetration. This role involves promoting and selling company-branded products, meeting sales objectives, and supporting customer service activities to enhance the company's visibility and market share. The position requires collaboration within the team and performing various duties to best serve the company.

Responsibilities

  • Generates additional business through analyzing sales territory and individual customers.
  • Samples products with existing and potential customers.
  • Plans general sales strategy including time and territory management.
  • Plans sales approach with individual customers and conducts effective sales presentations.
  • Grows sales and profit margins to meet established goals.
  • Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing and coordinating with other departments.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by providing exemplary service and resolving problems.
  • Builds additional business with current customers through product penetration.
  • Monitors accounts for compliance with credit terms to minimize accounts receivable problems.
  • Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6-12 months outside sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or related area
  • 1-2 years foodservice sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience
