About the position

The Area Sales Manager for Enabling Technologies (Neurosurgery) at Medtronic is responsible for selling surgical technologies products to hospitals and physicians within a designated territory. This field-based role involves conducting sales calls, executing sales action plans, and providing support to clinical personnel in surgical environments. The position requires strategic planning and execution of sales activities to meet quotas and objectives, while also maintaining company property and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face sales calls with physicians, nurses, and other key purchase influencers.
  • Demonstrate, in-service, and sell Medtronic Surgical Technologies products.
  • Execute Sales Action Plans successfully.
  • Plan and strategize sales calls to relevant hospital departments and outpatient surgery centers.
  • Provide support and service to clinical personnel in surgical environments.
  • Maintain company-owned property and inventory in good working condition.
  • Report competitive activity within the territory to the Region Manager.
  • Maintain all records and reports in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of sales experience, with 3 years in medical sales; or Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of Medtronic Neuroscience Clinical Specialist experience and 2 years of additional sales or clinical experience.
  • Successful medical sales record, preferably with Neurosurgery and Spine products.
  • Knowledge of assigned product/therapy customer base.
  • Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills.
