This position is primarily home-based, allowing for flexibility while necessitating regular travel to customer sites to promote and sell Axogen's innovative nerve repair products. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales revenue targets and expanding market share by effectively promoting, selling, and servicing the company's product portfolio. In this role, the Area Sales Manager will practice ethical territory management, which encompasses organization, planning, administration, and expense control. The successful candidate will be expected to increase sales and revenue by aggressively targeting both existing and new accounts. This includes training medical staff on the use of Axogen products and procedures, ensuring that they are well-informed and capable of utilizing the products effectively. Meeting and exceeding expectations set by Sales Management is a critical component of this role, requiring a strong commitment to performance and results. The responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager include strategic planning and results orientation, where the individual must develop, implement, and deliver on plans to achieve or exceed sales targets. This involves consistent achievement of sales objectives, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining targeted accounts while identifying competitive accounts for new business opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will also be responsible for territory management and account development, ensuring accurate records are maintained and that time is managed effectively to maximize coverage of targeted accounts. Additionally, the role requires strong influence and selling skills, as the Area Sales Manager will need to establish and maintain effective relationships with key decision-makers and customers. This includes delivering impactful sales presentations, understanding customer needs, and resolving complaints promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Continuous self-development and product knowledge are essential, as the Area Sales Manager must stay informed about clinical, technical, and product-related information to effectively communicate the value of Axogen's offerings. Compliance with company policies and relevant regulations is also a critical aspect of this position, ensuring that all activities align with industry standards and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales revenue targets and grow market share for the specified territory.
  • Promote, sell, and service Axogen's portfolio of nerve repair products.
  • Practice ethical territory management in terms of organization, planning, administration, and expense control.
  • Aggressively target and develop existing and new accounts to increase sales and revenue.
  • Train medical staff on products and procedures to ensure effective usage.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver on plans to achieve/exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate account and territory records for effective management.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure maximum coverage of targeted accounts.
  • Develop and act on plans to identify growth opportunities within current and competitive customer accounts.
  • Implement strategies to counter competitors and manage field inventory effectively.
  • Control and manage expenses in a cost-effective manner for the company.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key decision makers and customers.
  • Deliver effective sales/product presentations to customers, defining objectives and measuring success.
  • Respond to customer requests and resolve complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Proactively develop knowledge and skills in clinical, technical, product, and sales areas.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including compliance with relevant guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience in medical sales
  • Operating Room sales experience
  • Orthopedic and/or Medical device experience preferred
  • Must reside in the territory
