About the position

The Area Sales Manager position is primarily responsible for regional account sales and building impactful relationships with distributors, contractors, and engineers in the Houston area and Southeast Texas. This role is crucial in aligning NIBCO's capabilities with customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial goals. The Area Sales Manager will engage in a relationship sales role, focusing on developing and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders. This includes executing “win-win” scenarios for both the customer and NIBCO, tracking and winning jobs and projects in the local market, and communicating local market conditions and competitive activities to Regional Managers regularly. The position also involves conducting presentations on NIBCO products to both small and large groups, writing specifications that include NIBCO products, and providing field training at all levels on NIBCO products. Overnight travel is required for this position, emphasizing the need for flexibility and commitment to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field training at all levels on NIBCO products.
  • Overnight travel as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Plumbing products/piping products industry experience is a plus.
  • Good presentation skills in front of large groups.
  • Experience in effective relationship building and consultative selling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
