About the position

The Area Sales Manager at Continental Carbonic Products, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales growth and maintaining existing business relationships within the Indianapolis market. This position requires a high-energy sales professional who is adept at developing and sustaining relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and delivering value through effective sales strategies. The Area Sales Manager will work cross-functionally with Branch and Production teams to ensure consistent supply of dry ice to all customers, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and retention. In this role, the Area Sales Manager will be tasked with meeting and exceeding corporate objectives for profitable sales growth, safety and compliance performance, and accounts receivable management. The successful candidate will develop and execute sales plans aimed at improving market share and increasing revenue within their assigned territory. Building strong customer relationships is essential, which involves gaining a deep understanding of customers' businesses and establishing a consultative relationship that fosters trust and collaboration. The Area Sales Manager will also manage contract lifecycles, including price reviews and renewals, and support customer activities such as new business acquisition and contract negotiations. Maintaining accurate records of opportunities, contact data, and customer interactions in Salesforce CRM is crucial for tracking progress and identifying cross-selling opportunities. The role requires staying current with industry insights and monitoring competition to adapt strategies accordingly. Overnight travel is expected to be between 35-45%, reflecting the need to engage with customers directly and support business growth in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed corporate objectives for profitable sales growth and customer retention.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to improve market share and increase existing revenue.
  • Cultivate customer relationships by understanding their business needs and establishing consultative relationships.
  • Partner with internal resources to accomplish growth objectives.
  • Communicate consistently with internal departments regarding customer successes and opportunities.
  • Manage contract lifecycles including price reviews and renewals.
  • Support customer activities, new business acquisition, and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain opportunities, contact data, and PSCs in Salesforce CRM.
  • Monitor industry insights and competition by gathering marketplace data.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and facilitate hand-offs to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of professional sales experience with demonstrated high performance.
  • Experience in Dry Ice/CO2 products, B2C accounts, protein processing and packaging, and 3PLs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FDA).
