About the position

The Area Sales Manager at McKesson is responsible for leading a team of field sales account executives in Nevada and New Mexico, focusing on achieving financial objectives and driving team performance. This role emphasizes leadership, talent development, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance sales strategies and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Gross Profit goal and related MBO targets through key responsibilities and local strategies.
  • Embody and promote McKesson's Enterprise culture and ICARE and ILEAD behaviors within the team.
  • Drive performance and development activities, including performance management and continuing education.
  • Create, document, and update annual strategic and tactical plans to ensure financial plan achievement.
  • Focus on top customers and lead bi-annual business reviews with the market's top customers by revenue.
  • Collaborate with McKesson Sales Specialists to develop and adjust strategic sales plans.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform sales opportunity selection and improve results.

Requirements

  • 9 years of professional/sales experience.
  • 1 year of leading people directly or indirectly.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Experience selling to C-suite executives.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze trends.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to make difficult decisions.
  • Demonstrated performance management and sales leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM tools.
  • Experience in distribution sales and prior healthcare experience preferred.
