About the position

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business and enhancing the penetration of the existing customer base within assigned territories. This role requires maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, which includes being available 24/7 to address dealer needs and concerns. The Area Sales Manager will work to increase market share by signing new dealerships, growing application counts with existing dealerships, and capturing approved contracts. This position involves an average of 5-10 dealership visits, where the manager will review deals with dealer partners and assist them in structuring or restructuring deals to fit the program effectively. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Area Sales Manager acts as a consultant to F&I Managers, ensuring maximum profitability for dealerships through the sale of United Auto Credit (UAC) products. Collaboration with assigned Credit Analysts and Funders is essential to ensure loan approvals and expedite funding processes. The manager will also work closely with the Dealer Compliance team to resolve any issues that arise within the market. Building and maintaining strong dealer relationships is crucial, as is providing best-in-class customer service to dealer customers. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Sell new business and increase penetration of existing customer base.
  • Maintain high quality customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Increase market share in assigned territories.
  • Conduct an average of 5-10 dealership visits per week.
  • Sign new dealerships and grow application counts with existing dealerships.
  • Capture approved contracts and review deals with dealer partners.
  • Act as a consultant to F&I Managers to maximize dealership profitability.
  • Collaborate with Credit Analysts and Funders for loan approvals and fast funding.
  • Work with the Dealer Compliance team to resolve market issues.
  • Build and maintain dealer relationships and follow up on approved Loan Applications.
  • Provide best-in-class customer service to dealer customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of previous experience in a challenging sales role with a proven track record of success.
  • Previous experience in Auto Finance sales and underwriting or dealership experience.
  • Sub-prime auto finance experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work out of home and travel daily within a 60-mile radius to call on dealers.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a managerial role within sales or dealership environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Access, and SharePoint.
