About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the Northeast region at Hitachi Energy plays a crucial role in supporting the sales organization and customers throughout the sales process. This position is integral to driving sales growth and enhancing customer relationships within the assigned area. Reporting directly to the Marketing & Sales Manager, the ASM is responsible for increasing both new and existing sales by actively promoting Hitachi Energy products. This includes conducting webinars, seminars, presentations, and Lunch & Learns to educate and engage customers and internal stakeholders about the product offerings. In addition to promotional activities, the ASM will influence customer specifications and provide relevant product knowledge to customers and the sales organization. The role involves creating collaborative sales plans with Field Engineering Services (FES), Regional Engineering and Product Support (REPS), and the Account organization. The ASM will also be involved in bid operations, analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through market information and insights provided by the local sales team. The ASM ensures that marketing actions and communications are efficient and effective, preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager. This includes ensuring that all technical and financial aspects of offers are appropriate, including pricing and trading conditions. The role also requires managing administrative procedures in the sales process and supporting collection and project management activities as needed. A key responsibility of the ASM is to communicate the value proposition of Hitachi Energy's products, systems, services, and packages. This includes providing competitive data on the market, products, and competitors, as well as clear pricing indicators for projects. The ASM will communicate details in alignment with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy, including delivery times, payment terms, and general conditions. Additionally, the ASM will provide status reviews and propose recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls, while also managing monthly sales activities and customer visits. Responsibilities

  • Increase new and existing sales and business by supporting the Sales organization.
  • Promote Hitachi Energy products internally and externally through webinars, seminars, presentations, and Lunch & Learns.
  • Influence customer specifications and provide relevant product knowledge to customers and the sales organization.
  • Create sales plans jointly with Field Engineering Services (FES), Regional Engineering and Product Support (REPS), and the Account organization.
  • Manage bid operations and analyze customer needs and competitor offers through market information.
  • Ensure efficient marketing actions and communication to local Sales organization and customers.
  • Prepare offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager, ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers.
  • Manage administrative procedures in sales processes and support collection and project management activities when needed.
  • Communicate the value proposition of products, systems, services, and packages.
  • Provide competitive data on market, product, and competitors, and clear pricing indicators for projects.
  • Communicate details in accordance with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy, including delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in the Power Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
