About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for the Northeast region at Hitachi Energy plays a crucial role in supporting the sales organization and customers throughout the sales process. This position is integral to driving sales growth and enhancing customer relationships within the assigned area. Reporting directly to the Marketing & Sales Manager, the ASM is responsible for increasing both new and existing sales by actively engaging with the sales team and customers. This includes promoting Hitachi Energy products through various channels such as webinars, seminars, presentations, and Lunch & Learns, thereby ensuring that customers are well-informed about the offerings. In addition to promoting products, the ASM will influence customer specifications and provide relevant product knowledge to both customers and the sales organization. The role involves creating collaborative sales plans with Field Engineering Services (FES), Regional Engineering and Product Support (REPS), and the Account organization. The ASM will also be involved in bid operations, analyzing customer needs, and competitor offers by leveraging market information and insights from the local sales team. The ASM is tasked with ensuring efficient marketing actions and communication with the local sales organization and customers. This includes preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager, ensuring that all technical and financial aspects of offers are appropriately addressed, including pricing and trading conditions. The role also encompasses managing administrative procedures in the sales process and supporting collection and project management activities as needed. Furthermore, the ASM will communicate the value proposition of Hitachi Energy's products, systems, services, and packages, while also providing competitive data on the market, products, and competitors. This includes offering clear pricing indicators for projects and communicating details in alignment with Hitachi Energy's offerings and strategy, such as delivery times, payment terms, and general conditions. The ASM will conduct status reviews and propose recovery plans in cases of potential order shortfalls, while also managing monthly sales activities and customer visits. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in the Power Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
