About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving machine tool sales activities within a designated region. This role focuses on developing and implementing effective sales strategies that align with corporate goals, fostering customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction to promote future sales growth and optimize revenue. The ASM will also engage in critical customer situations, collaborate with service and application teams, and maintain a positive and motivated presence in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a successful sales strategy to align with corporate goals and achieve objectives.
  • Create action plans to penetrate new markets and cultivate customer relationships.
  • Take a primary role in the sales efforts to acquire key prospects and secure orders.
  • Support critical customer situations and liaise with Service and Application staff to obtain optimal solutions for customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Analyze and monitor sales forecast activity and profit margin performance, making necessary adjustments to achieve goals.
  • Establish professional relationships within the industry and partner with customers to understand and anticipate their needs.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing volume and performance in the region.
  • Conduct seminars and attend trade shows to promote GF Machining Solutions as a leader in the EDM/Milling/CSB industries.
  • Complete special projects as required by the Head of Sales in the assigned region.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the machine tool or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies and market penetration techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and forecast trends effectively.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the aerospace, automotive, medical, energy, ICT, or electronics industries.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and innovation practices in sales.
