About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is a pivotal role within Stellantis, focusing on driving revenue through strategic sales initiatives across a network of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and FIAT dealerships in Northern Michigan. This position acts as a crucial link between the dealerships and Stellantis, ensuring that retail development is optimized to meet market demands. The ASM will be responsible for forecasting retail sales objectives by vehicle line, which involves a deep understanding of market trends and consumer preferences. This includes managing dealer orders to align with market demand and overseeing monthly vehicle scheduling to maximize production capabilities in the area. In addition to sales forecasting, the ASM will conduct thorough reviews of the minimum sales responsibility (MSR) and provide valuable consultation on electric vehicle (EV) readiness and improvement opportunities. A significant part of the role involves analyzing dealer financial statements to identify areas for operational enhancement. The ASM will also ensure that advertising and marketing initiatives are in line with Stellantis' corporate messaging and branding guidelines, thereby maintaining a consistent brand presence across all dealerships. The Area Sales Manager will play a key role in fostering a culture of high performance among independent dealership owners, motivating them to achieve their sales targets while also meeting Stellantis' internal goals. This position requires a proactive approach to building positive working relationships with dealership personnel, ensuring that sales satisfaction levels are consistently high across all locations. The ASM will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills to drive success in the Northern Michigan territory.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between Stellantis and Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and FIAT dealerships in Northern Michigan.
  • Forecast retail sales objectives by vehicle line and ensure dealer orders meet market demand.
  • Manage monthly vehicle scheduling to maximize production capability within the area.
  • Review minimum sales responsibility (MSR) and provide consultation on EV readiness and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze dealer financial statements and consult on areas of opportunity to improve retail operations.
  • Ensure advertising and marketing initiatives align with corporate messaging and branding guidelines.
  • Motivate and lead independent dealership owners to achieve higher performance levels.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with dealership personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 1+ years of sales or marketing experience.
  • Reside in or near Northern Michigan (Traverse City, Grayling, Cadillac area) or be willing to relocate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Experience in a new car automotive dealership environment.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic work setting.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a history of leadership and achievement.
