About the position

Revolution Brewing, a renowned craft brewery based in the Midwest, is seeking an Area Sales Manager to represent our brand in the northern suburbs of Chicago, specifically covering areas from Evanston to Wisconsin. This role is pivotal as you will be the front-line voice of our brewery, working closely with local distributors and retail partners to ensure our fresh beers reach consumers effectively. Your responsibilities will include securing prime display locations, ensuring our beers are available at local bars and restaurants, and promoting our products at various samplings and festivals. The territory for this position includes key towns such as Evanston, Grayslake, Mundelein, Crystal Lake, and Lake Zurich. It is essential that candidates reside within this territory to effectively manage relationships and logistics. You will be expected to travel frequently within your designated area, visiting accounts to deliver merchandise and beer, and to create awareness of our flagship and new beer offerings. In this role, you will utilize our sales data system, VIP, to analyze sales opportunities and develop a strategic sales plan that aligns with quarterly bonus goals. Your ability to follow up with accounts and report your successes to the distributor will be crucial in showcasing your strong communication skills. The compensation for this position includes a base salary of $55,000 to $60,000, with the potential for quarterly bonuses of up to $3,000 and an annual bonus of 10%, which could add an additional $16,000 to $18,000 to your earnings if sales targets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local distributors and retail partners to promote and sell Revolution Brewing's products.
  • Secure prime display locations for our beers in local bars and restaurants.
  • Participate in samplings and festivals to promote our brand and products.
  • Utilize the VIP sales data system to analyze sales opportunities and develop a sales plan.
  • Follow up with accounts to maintain relationships and report successes to the distributor.
  • Deliver merchandise and beer to accounts in the territory.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working for a beer wholesaler or supplier within the Illinois 3-tier market.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and sales planning.
  • Established relationships with local bars, restaurants, and stores in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
  • Ability to maneuver 35-pound cases and full kegs as part of the job.
