About the position

The Area Sales Manager at ChampionX is responsible for managing all sales activities and results for the sucker rod group in the Midcontinent and Lower Rockies regions. This role involves developing and executing sales plans, driving collaboration across sales regions, and managing a sales team to achieve revenue growth and customer satisfaction. The position emphasizes continuous improvement, safety compliance, and the development of team members both commercially and technically.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all sales activities and results for the sucker rod group in the Midcontinent and Lower Rockies regions.
  • Develops and executes sales plans, devises KPIs for revenue growth, diversification, and share gain initiatives.
  • Provides detailed forecasts and sales reports.
  • Drives collaboration with other sales regions and divisions to generate comprehensive value for the customer.
  • Manages the sale of company products and services for a product line, geography, and sales channel of responsibility.
  • Develops sales personnel, customer accounts, and provides co-management and training to assigned sales force.
  • Develops and implements sales objectives, strategies, promotional programs and ensures their execution.
  • Establishes and implements sales plans as needed to support all target markets; achieves sales goals associated with revenue and profit targets.
  • Trains and manages existing sales organization dealers and new customers; champions the use of sales tools and processes for efficient and effective sales force.
  • Provides reporting on forecasts, budgets, and sales performance.
  • Identifies and pursues growth opportunities.
  • Knows and enforces compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Drives and contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
  • Coaches and mentors one or two levels of direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Oversees management of unmanned field locations to ensure adequate volume, turns, and inventory accuracy.

Requirements

  • Four year college or university degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence or 5 years equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience, particularly in the oil and gas industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
